Boring biographical stuff

So here’s some uninteresting things about me, if you’re interested:

•I teach English and journalism at Palo Alto High School (Paly) in Palo Alto, Calif.

•At Paly I advise The Campanile newspaper.

•I live in Redwood City, Calif.

•My wife, Julia, is an English and journalism teacher at Monta Vista High School.

•We met while teaching at a summer journalism workshop. (Aww … )

•We have two boys, Micah (6 years old) and Jonah (5 years old).

•In addition to being a high school teacher, I also: sometimes teach at summer journalism workshops for the Michigan Interscholastic Press Association, Newsroom by the BayThe Nebraska High School Press AssociationBall State and the Kansas Journalism Institute , serve on The Student Press Law Center’s advisory council steering committee and am a member of the Journalism Education Association’s Certification Commission.

•I’m a huge Detroit Tigers and Michigan State sports fan.

•I play bass, poorly.
