Sample interview request email

Here’s an email you can customize when requesting to email a student during a class:

Dear (teacher’s name),

My name is (your name), and I’m writing an article for my journalism class about (subject of your article). I wondered if I could interview (student name) who is in your (hour and name of class) on (date that you want to conduct the interview). The interview would take about (number of minutes you expect the interview to last).

Please let me know if this is or isn’t possible and when a good time to interview (interviewee’s first name), and thank you for your time.
